Description

Evans developed a classification of trochanteric fractures of the proximal femur.

Parameters:

(1) type of fracture

(2) stability after reduction (considered stable if there is overlap of the inner cortical buttress)

where:

• The reverse obliquity fracture is a transverse fracture with the medial end at the lower trochanter. The Type 1 fractures follow the intertrochanteric line.
