Description

The dysfunctional tear syndrome (DTS) has been proposed as the term to replace "dry eye". The severity of DTS without lid margin disease can be determined by clinical findings.


 

Patient selection: dysfunctional tear syndrome without lid margin disease

(4) other findings (tear film signs, visual signs, filamentous keratitis, conjunctival staining, corneal erosions)

Interpretation:

• minimum level: 0

• maximum level: 4

• The higher the level the more aggressive the therapy required.
