Description

An aortopulmonary (AP) window involves a communication between the ascending aorta and main pulmonary artery. What distinguishes this from truncus arteriosus is the presence of 2 separate semilunar valves.

Differential diagnosis:

(1) pulmonary artery arising from the ascending aorta (hemitruncus)

(2) truncus arteriosus (does not have 2 separate semilunar valves)
