In visceral larva migrans the larvae can visit many organs including the brain.
Clinical manifestations may include:
(1) seizures
(2) headaches
(3) acute meningitis
(4) encephalitis
(5) myelitis
The patient typically has signs and symptoms of extra-cerebral disease.
Laboratory findings:
(1) CSF and peripheral blood eosinophilia
(2) antibodies by ELISA in serum and CSF
Imaging studies can show one or more eosinophilic granulomas which can show contrast-enhancement on T2 weighted images.
