Feliciano et al proposed a grading system for a cerebral arteriovenous malformation being treated by an endovascular embolization. This can help to identify a patient at increased risk for complications. The authors are from the University of Puerto Rico.
Patient selection: cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) undergoing an endovascular procedure
Parameters:
(1) number of feeding vessels
(2) eloquence of adjacent areas
(3) presence of arteriovenous fistula(e) or fistulous component(s)
