The cassowary is a large, flightless ratite bird which can be extremely dangerous.

Distribution: tropical forests of Australia and New Guinea

 

Adult dimensions: 6 feet tall, weighing up to 130 pounds

 

Speed: up to 31 miles per hour

 

Lethal weapon: 4-inch claw on each foot which can be delivered by a swift kick
