Description

Matthay et al evaluated patients receiving ultramassive blood transfusions and identified factors associated with outcomes. The authors created 2 classification and regression tree (CART) models, one composed of patients with the most complete data. The authors are from multiple institutions in the United States.


Ultramassive blood transfusion: > 20 units of RBCs in first 24 hours, complete or near complete data
