The Corrected Count Increment (CCI) and Percentage Platelet Recovery (PPR) can be calculated using the body surface area, and one can be estimated from the other.
PPR in percent for a man =
= (0.002725 * (CCI)) / (fractional recovery of transfused platelets)
PPR in percent for a woman =
= (0.002507 * (CCI)) / (fractional recovery of transfused platelets)
where:
• The PPR is the approximation for platelet recovery based on the body surface area.
CCI for a man =
= (PPR in percent) * (fractional recovery of transfused platelets) / 0.002725
CCI for a woman =
= (PPR in percent) * (fractional recovery of transfused platelets) / 0.002507
