Description

When planning a project, often one must decide what is important and what is not. The iron/scope/quality triangle is one way of conceptualizing this.

Sides of the triangle:

(1) time

(2) cost

(3) quality

The typical usage is to pick 2 qualities that are most important. The third side is what will be sacrificed.

In an ideal world one want something that is fast, cheap and good. In the real world you often must sacrifice one or more to get the other targets.
