Description

Occasionally a patient with scabies will develop a bullous-pemphigoid-like (?pemphigoidoid) eruption.


Clinical features:

(1) The patient develops a bullous eruption.

(2) The patient may have other skin lesions consistent with scabies.

(3) A skin biopsy show histological and immunofluorescent features of bullous pemphigoid.

(4) Skin scraping show evidence of mites.

(5) The skin eruption resolves after appropriate therapy for scabies.
