Description

Nilsson et al evaluated women for coronary artery stenosis secondary to radiation therapy for breast cancer. The authors are from University Hospital Uppsala and King’s College London.


 

Patient selection: woman receiving radiation therapy for breast cancer

 

Outcome: high grade stenosis of a coronary artery (3 to 5 on a scale of 0 to 5)

Radiation Delivery

Site at High Risk for Significant Stenosis

right internal mammary lymph node chain

proximal right

left internal mammary lymph node chain

mid and distal left anterior descending and/or distal diagnonal

left breast and left chest wall

mid and distal left anterior descending and/or distal diagnonal

 

If a patient was not high risk then she was classified as low risk.
