Bollinger et al reported a classification for lower extremity peripheral artery disease based on the angiographic appearance.
Arterial segments, each scored for left and right sides (except for abdominal aorta = 19 segments
(1) abdominal aorta
(2) common iliac
(3) external iliac
(4) internal iliac
(5) profunda
(6) superficial femoral
(7) popliteal
(8) anterior tibial
(9) peroneal
(10) posterior tibial
Parameters:
(1) occlusive pattern
(2) number of foci
(3) percent of segment
(4) occlusions

initial score =
= MAX(occlusion points, nonocclusion points)
On follow-up in a patient with occlusion, the score was modified base on interval change:
(1) >= 2 cm increase in occluded segment: add 1
(2) >= 2 cm decrease in occluded segment: subtract 1
(3) else no change in score
