Description

Body temperature shows a diurnal variation during the day.

Time of Day

Body Temperature

early morning 0400-0600

nadir (lowest)

evening 1600-2000

peak

The difference between peak and nadir: 0.9 °F.

If we assume a linear increase from nadir to peak and a linear decrease from peak to nadir, then:

temperature from 0600 to 1600 =

= (nadir temperature) + (0.09 * (((time in military form) - 600) / 100))

temperature from 2000 to 2400 =

= (nadir temperature) + (0.1125 * (((time in military form) - 2000) / 100))

temperature from 0000 to 0400 =

= (nadir temperature) + (0.1125 * ((0400 - (time in military form)) / 100))
