Description

A subset of the Blessed-Dementia Scale can be used to evaluate a patient for disability.


Sections:

(1) memory and performance in everyday activities (8)

(2) habits (3)

 

Memory and performance in activities:

(1) household tasks

(2) handling small sums of money

(3) able to remember a short list

(4) able to find way around indoors at a familiar place

(5) able to find way around familiar streets

(6) able to grasp situations or explanations

(7) able to recall recent events

(8) tendency to dwell in the past

Interpretation:

minimum subscore ot total score: 0

maximum subscore for memory and performance: 8

maximum subscore for habits: 9

maximum total score: 17

The higher the score the more disabled the patient.
