The bicaudate-temporal index can help to evaluate the size of a lateral ventricles.


Exam: CT head scan, axial views

 

Parameters:

(1) minimum distance between the caudate nuclei in the lateral ventricles in cm

(2) maximum internal skull diameter in cm (taken perpendicular to the long axis, temporal-parietal region)

= (bicaudate distance) / (maximum skull diameter)
