A bad trip is an unpleasant experience associated with a hallucinogen or psychedelic substance and may involve:
(1) severe fear, anxiety or panic
(2) terrifying hallucinations
(3) nightmarish experience
(4) distress
(5) paranoia
Some of the substance associated with a bad trip include:
(1) mescaline (peyote)
(2) psychedelic mushrooms
(3) LSD
(4) PCP
(5) marijuana (anticholinergic effect)
Complications:
(1) temporary or permanent psychosis
(2) self-harm (mutilation, suicide)
