The ratio of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) to lymphocyte ratio index is associated with survival in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
Parameters:
(1) serum AST in U/L
(2) absolute lymphocyte count in 10^9/L
AST to lymphocyte ratio =
= (AST) / (absolute lymphocyte count)
Interpretation:
• An ALRI > 25.2 had a worse overall survival (5 Year overall survival 20% vs 40%).
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.66.
Prognostic factors for overall survival:
(1) ALRI > 25.2
(2) TNM stage III or IV
(3) tumor diameter > 5 cm
(4) recurrence
