Description

A number of animals or other living things should not be brought into a school or other public setting where human contact is possible.


 

Animals that should not be brought into a school or public setting with possible human contact:

(1) lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), ocelots, or other wild/exotic animals

(2) monkeys, apes or other nonhuman primates

(3) mammals at high risk for transmitting rabies (bats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks)

(4) wolf or wolf-dog hybrids

(5) aggressive or unpredictable animals

(6) stray animals with unknown health and vaccination status

(7) ill-appearing or symptomatic animals

(8) if agitated by strangers or multiple contacts

 

Other living things that should not be brought into a school:

(1) venomous spiders

(2) venomous snakes

(3) venomous or toxin-producing reptiles

(4) venomous or toxin-producing amphibians

(5) stinging insects
