Description

Weng et al reported the ANDC model to predict mortality for an adult with COVID-19. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in CHina.

ANDC is an acronym for age, NLR, D-dimer and CRP

Patient selection: adult with COVID-19

Outcome: mortality

Parameters:

(1) age in years from 20 to 90 years

(2) neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), from 0 to 40

(3) plasma D-dimer in mg/L, from 0 to 20

(4) serum CRP in mg/L, from 0 to 260

points for age =

= (1.141428 * (age)) - 22.82857

points for NLR =

= 1.615 * (NLR)

points for D-dimer =

= 5 * (D-dimer)

points for CRP =

= 0.13923 * (CRP)

total score =

= SUM(points for all of the parameters)

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 280.7

value of X =

= (0.07059 * (score)) - 7.195

probability of mortality =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))
