American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) Grading Criteria for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)

The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) has reported grading criteria for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID).

Patient selection: woman with pelvic inflammatory disease

Clinical features: signs of inflammation, positive cultures or microbiology tests, variable pelvic pain and fever

Parameters affecting grading:

(1) extent of the infection

(2) additional findings

inflammation of uterine corpus, fallopian tubes and/or ovaries		III
