Description

The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) has reported grading criteria for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID).


Patient selection: woman with pelvic inflammatory disease

 

Clinical features: signs of inflammation, positive cultures or microbiology tests, variable pelvic pain and fever

 

Parameters affecting grading:

(1) extent of the infection

(2) additional findings
