Description

Fan et al reported the aMAP score for predicting hepatocellular carcinoma in a pateint with chronic hepatitis. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from multiple institutions in China and Europe.

Patient selection: chronic viral hepatitis

aMAP is an acronym for age, male, albumin-bilirubin, platelets

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) sex (0 if female, 1 if male)

(3) ALBI score based on serum total bilirubin in µmol/L and serum albumin in g/L

(4) platelet count in 10^3 per µL

ALBI =

= (0.66 * LOG10(total bilirubin)) - (0.085 * (albumin))

X =

= (0.06 * (age)) + (0.89 * (sex)) + (0.48 * (ALBI)) - (0.01 * (platelet count)) + 7.4

aMAP risk score =

= X / 14.77 * 100

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 100

Score
