Description

Contingent or alternative work arrangements offer a number of benefits such as flexibility and an exposure to diverse situations. However, some patients may be classed as a contingent or alternative worker to avoid providing all of the benefits that a worker may be entitled to.

The traditional salaried worker:

(1) works full-time

(2) has some form of guarantee (implicit or explicit) of ongoing employment

(3) often has benefits

A contingent or alternative worker usually does not have one or more of these.
