Description

Liu et al developed a panel of immunohistochemical stains to distinguish different types of renal cell tumors. The authors are from Beijing Friendship Hospital I Beijing.

Stains employed:

(1) vimentin

(2) CD117

(3) GST-alpha (glutathione S-transferase alpha)

(4) CK7

(5) EpCAM (epithelial cell adhesion molecule)

(6) Hale colloidal iron

Tumors considered:

(1) clear cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC)

(2) chromophobe renal cell carcinoma

(3) oncocytoma
