Some scorpion stings may be followed by acute pancreatitis.

Clinical findings:
(1) history of scorpion sting
(2) onset of abdominal pain
(3) elevation of serum amylase and lipase consistent with acute pancreatitis
(4) exclusion of other causes of acute pancreatitis, especially alcohol and gallstones
