Description

Voskoboinik et al reported the ABC-VT risk score for predicting adverse outcomes in a patient with frequent premature ventricular complexes (PVCs). This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management.  The authors are from the University of California San Francisco, Kosin University and Samsung Medical Center in Seoul.

Patient selection: frequent (> 5%) premature ventricular complexes

Adverse outcome: decline in LVEF by 10%, heart failure hospitalization, or cardiovascular mortality.

Parameters:

(1) PVC axis (A)

(2) burden (B)

(3) PVC coupling interval in milliseconds (C)

(4) nonsustained ventricular tachycardia (VT)
