Description

Lemke et al reported a simple 3-point transfusion risk score for patients undergoing hepatectomy. This can help to determine the likelihood of perioperative transfusion. The authors are from the University of Toronto, University of Western Ontario, University of Ottawa and University of Calgary in Canada.

Patient selection: hepatectomy

Parameters:

(1) hemoglobin in g/dL

(2) diagnosis

(3) number of segments resected
