Diefenbach et al proposed a simplified International Prognostic Score (IPS) for patients with Hodgkin’s Disease. The original IPS has 7 variables, while the new one only 3. The authors are from New York University, Dana Farber Cancer Center, Northwestern University, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Washington University, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Toronto and British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver.
Patient selection: Hodgkin Disease
Parameters at diagnosis:
(1) age of the patient in years
(2) hemoglobin in g/dL
(3) clinical stage

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 3
• The higher the score the worse the overall survival and progression-free survival.
