The British Thoracic Society (BTS) published criteria for grading the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).


 

Parameters:

where:

• Abnormal clinical signs include wheezing, cyanosis, peripheral edema, polycythemia, lung overinflation ("barrel chest").
