Description

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued criteria for the diagnosis of African trypanosomiasis.


 

Confirmed trypanosomiasis: presence of trypanosomes in blood, lymph node aspirates, or CSF.

in blood or lymph node aspirates but not CSF

<= 5 per µL

in CSF

OR

> 5 per µL
