Description

Vitiligo is an acquired pigmentary skin disorder. The most common form is vitiligo vulgaris which features symmetrically distributed depigmented macules that may expand in size and number during the course of the disease. The Vitiligo Disease Activity (VIDA) Score is a 6-point scale for assessing disease activity and is intended to help assess effectiveness of interventions to halt and reverse the extent of depigmentation.

Scoring:

(1) Based on the patient's own opinion of the present disease activity over time.

(2) Active disease involves either (1) expansion of existing lesions, or (2) appearance of new lesions.
