Description

The Brief Michigan Alcoholism Test allows rapid assessment of patients for alcohol abuse.


 

The instrument consists of 10 questions.

 

Points for problem drinking are scored as 2 or 5 points, depending on the weighting.

 

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 29

• A score >= 6 indicates probable alcohol abuse.
