Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (RAAA) Possum Score

Description

The Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm POSSUM (RAAA-POSSUM) score is modification of the POSSUM score for predicting mortality in patients undergoing surgical repair of a ruptured aortic aneurysm.


 

Y for mortality based on physiologic and operative scores =

= (0.0913 * (physiologic score)) + (0.0958 * (operative score)) - 4.9795

 

Z for mortality based on physiology score =

= (0.0968 * (physiologic score)) - 2.7569

 

where:

• Operations will be major or complex major in most cases.

• Presence of a malignant neoplasm and peritoneal soiling are probably irrelevant in most cases.
