Description

A farmer may suffer mutilating injuries to the fingers if a hand gets caught in a mechanical corn-picker. Gorsche and Wood graded the functional outcome following surgical repair. The authors are from the Mayo Clinic.


 

Factors affecting outcome:

(1) number of fingers remaining

(2) sensation in skin covering the areas of amputation
