Some families may object to a complete autopsy being performed on a deceased relative. However, they may give permission to a less invasive post-mortem examination.
Partial autopsy:
(1) limited to a body region (thorax, abdomen)
(2) limited to a single organ
(3) limited to a needle biuopsy
(4) removal of a prosthesis or device
Radiology exam:
(1) MRI
Laboratory exam:
(1) cytogenetics
(2) biochemical or drug analysis
(3) body fluid analysis
Other:
(1) external examination with photograph
