Grading Scheme of Scott et al for Embryos on Day 3 of Culture

Description

Scott et al used a number of grading schemes to describe embryos during their early development. One scheme involved grading embryos on Day 3 of culture. The authors are from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

(1) number of cells in the embryo

(2) percent fragmentation

(3) cell-cell contact

(4) multinucleated blastomeres

(5) blastomere size

• “Percent Fragmentation” needs to be defined.
