Formula for Relating Diameter and Number in Numbered Shot

The diameter of numbered shot correlates with the shot number as shown in a simple formula.

Requirements:

(1) diameter from 0.08 to 0.16 inches

(2) shot number from 1 to 9

diameter of the shot in inches =

= (17 - (number for shot size)) / 100

If this is rearranged:

number of shot size =

= 17 - (100 * (number for the shot size))
