Description

Localized cutaneous leishmaniasis is the most common clinical pattern in cutaneous leishmaniasis.

Criteria for localized cutaneous leishmaniasis - one of the following:

(1) < 10 cutaneous lesions in any distribution

(2) >= 10 lesions limited to a single body part

Because of the limited nature of the involvement, the spectrum of skin lesions types seen in disseminated leishmaniasis does not occur.
