Description

Jet skis may be associated with a variety of injuries.


 

Causes of injuries or infection may include:

(1) falling off while traveling at high speed or turning

(2) being hit by the water jet

(3) being hit by a jet ski or by a boat

(4) hitting something while riding a jet ski

(5) exposure to water pathogens

 

Complications may include:

(1) fracture (pelvic, vertebral, etc)

(2) anorectal trauma

(3) genital laceration or rupture (in females, from the water jet)

(4) head and neck injury

(5) eye trauma

(6) infection (amoeba, Vibrio, etc)

(7) other blunt trauma

(8) penetrating trauma after running into something

(9) rhabdomyolysis
