This Website is run by Medicalalgorithms.com Limited, a UK company registered in London, England. Medal reserves the right, in its discretion, to change or modify all or any part of this Agreement at any time, and such modification shall be effective immediately upon posting the modified agreement on the site. Please review the Agreement periodically to be aware of modifications and your continued access or use of the Site shall be deemed your conclusive acceptance of the modified agreement. If at any time the terms and conditions of this Agreement are no longer acceptable to you, you should immediately cease all use of the Service.

The terms “we”, “us”, “our”, “Medal” and “Medicalalgorithms.com” means Medicalalgorithms.com Ltd., a UK company with Company Number 6189785 and registered office at 95 Aldwych, London, England.
“You” or "User" / "Users“ means any third party that accesses the Website and is not employed by Medal and acting privately or in the course of their employment;
"Website" or “Site” means the website that you are currently using (www.medicalalgorithms.com) and any sub-domains of this site (www.medicalalgorithms.com/aboutus) including its mobile applications.

We provide users of the Medal Site with a very large number of medical algorithms and calculators, and additionally with several other useful Services, accessible on the web as well as from mobile applications.
While we hope you find the Services helpful, you should remember that it is not meant to serve as a substitute for the clinical judgment of a healthcare professional. We do not provide medical advice.
Medal includes clinical tools and databases intended for use by qualified professionals. These tools do not give professional advice; physicians and other healthcare professionals who use these tools or databases should exercise their own clinical judgment as to the information they provide.
Medal uses reasonable endeavors to check the accuracy of the professional information published on this Site. You should note however that Medal does not warrant that such information will be error free and the User acknowledges that the algorithms, information, products, and services published on this Website may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically added to the information herein. Medal may make improvements and/or changes in this Website at any time.
The Services are intended for physicians, insurance companies, corporate users and other healthcare professionals. The Service provides general information only and does not constitute legal or medical advice. Any result given by our Content is for guidance only and does not substitute for actual medical advice.
THE SERVICE AND THE CONTENT ARE DISTRIBUTED ON AN "AS IS, AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. You are prohibited from doing any act that Medal in its absolute discretion may deem to be inappropriate and/or would be deemed to be an unlawful act or is prohibited by any laws applicable to this website or brings into disrepute the good name of Medal.
5. Rules of Conduct
The following is an incomplete list of illegal and prohibited uses of the Service. Medal may investigate any illegal and/or unauthorized use of the Service and appropriate legal action may be taken, including without limitation, termination of your right to access the Service, and civil, criminal, and injunctive redress. While utilizing the Service, you may not:

Except as expressly permitted in this Agreement, you may not modify, publish, transmit, reproduce, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display, sell, transfer or in any way exploit any of the Content or Material, in whole or in part. You also agree not to circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with any security related features of the Service or the Content, including features that prevent or restrict use or copying or that enforce limitations on use.
By registering for the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 16 years of age or older. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that all registration information you submit is complete and truthful and you agree to the accuracy of such information. The registration profile for the Service must describe you, an individual person. Examples of inappropriate profiles include, but are not limited to, profiles that purport to represent an animal, place, inanimate object, fictional character, or a real individual who is not you. Creating an account under automated means or under false or fraudulent pretenses constitutes unauthorized use of the Service and such accounts will be terminated by Medal. If you wish to view or change your profile, you can do so via the “Settings" option on the site.
You agree to keep the password for your access to Medal confidential and agree not to permit anyone else to have access to it. Furthermore you agree to be fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password. You agree to immediately notify Medal of any unauthorized use of your password.
By subscribing to the Service, you agree with and are bound by the subscription Policy. To view the Subscription Policy, please click on the link provided.
Should you wish to subscribe to get full access to all our algorithms and calculators, you agree to pay the subscription fee at the rates in effect when the charges were incurred.
If you do not renew and your subscription expires, your access to the Service and all of its services will terminate without additional notice. We reserve the right to change our subscription fees at any time without notice.
If you are authorized to access Medal through arrangements between your employer and us, some or all of these and terms may not apply to you. Please contact your employer for details.
If you have purchased a subscription, the log in credentials are personal to the individual named on the account and cannot be shared with or used by any other individual, or entity. The sharing of passwords, login information, or user identification is forbidden. We reserve the right to monitor Customer's use of the Service to ensure compliance with this Agreement and prevent fraudulent use.

This Agreement may be terminated by either party without notice at any time for any reason.
Medal reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to restrict, suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Service at any time for any reason without prior notice. Conversely, you may terminate your subscription of the Service at any time, for any reason. Once your subscription terminates, you will have no right to use the Site.
Any Users banned in this way must not attempt to use the Website under any other name or by using the access credentials of another User, with or without the permission of that User. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your account, any associated email address, or access to the Services or any portion thereof.
10. Intellectual Property
You acknowledge and agree that the entire Service, information, content and software presented to you through the Website or used in connection with the Site contains proprietary and confidential information that is protected under UK, U.S. and international intellectual property laws or other proprietary rights and laws. Except as expressly authorized by us or our licensors, you agree not to sell, rewrite, modify, reproduce, redistribute, create derivative works, or rent any information presented to you through the Services, in whole or in part. The names, images and logos identifying Medal or third parties and their products and services, are the proprietary marks of Medal, and/or may be the proprietary marks of third parties. Any use made of these marks may be an infringement of rights in those marks and Medal reserves all rights to enforce such rights that it might have.
Subject to the exceptions expressively defined in these Terms and Conditions, all Content included on the Website, unless uploaded by Users, including, but not limited to, text, numbers, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code and software is the property of Medal, or our affiliates. By continuing to use the Website you acknowledge that such material is protected by applicable United Kingdom and International intellectual property and other laws.
11. Third Party Intellectual Property Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall confer any rights upon any third party. The agreement created by these Terms and Conditions is between you and Medal.
Where expressly indicated, certain Content and the Intellectual Property Rights subsisting therein belongs to other parties. This Content, unless expressly stated to be so, is not covered by any permission granted by these Terms and Conditions to use Content from the Website.

Some provisions of these Terms & Conditions are for the benefit of Medal and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, and any third party information providers to the Service. Each of these individuals or entities shall have the right to assert and enforce those provisions directly against you on its own behalf.
Medal is committed to complying with UK, U.S. and international copyright laws and to respond to claims of copyright infringement. Medal will promptly process and investigate notices of alleged infringement and will take appropriate actions.
When content from original works is included on our site, we provide references near the bottom of the page, which are the intellectual property of their authors/publishers (or the public domain when appropriate).
Our Website transforms published algorithms into interactive, dynamically-scored calculators that we believe quality for transformative fair use: from a static list to a live calculator with both the total score as well as diagnostic/prognostic information, description and suggested interpretation.

15. Availability of the Website and Systems Reliability
Medal aims to keep the Site available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week and to maintain saved information. However, Medal shall not be liable for lost altered, or corrupted information or non-availability of the Site. Medal does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free or that defects in the Service will be corrected.
The Service is provided "as is" and on an "as available" basis. We give no warranty that the Service will be free of defects and / or faults. To the maximum extent permitted by the law we provide no warranties (express or implied) of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of information, compatibility and satisfactory quality.
Medal reserves the right to alter, suspend or discontinue any part (or the whole of) the Website including, but not limited to, the products and/or services available. These Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply to any modified version of the Website unless it is expressly stated otherwise.
Whilst Medal uses reasonable endeavors to ensure that the Website and any downloaded content is secure and free of errors, viruses or other malware or similar contamination, Medal gives no warranties that the Site and Services are free from viruses and users are responsible for ensuring that they have installed adequate virus checking software. Users are advised to take responsibility for their own security, that of their personal details and their computers.
Medal excludes, in so far as it is legally possible, all liability and responsibility for any viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, restrict, destroy, limit the functionality of or compromise the integrity of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment or other material transmitted.
Medal accepts no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the Website resulting from external causes including, but not limited to, ISP equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war or legal restrictions and censorship.

The Service may contain links to Site or mobile applications on the Internet which are owned and operated by third parties. You acknowledge that Medal is not responsible for the availability of, or the content located on or through, any external site or mobile application. You should contact the Site or mobile application administrator or webmaster for those external site or mobile applications if you have any concerns regarding such links or the content located on such external site or mobile applications.
21. No Waiver
In the event that any party to this Agreement and these Terms and Conditions fails to exercise any right or remedy contained herein, this shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy.
Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
22. Mobile Services
You may use the Medal app on your mobile devices. The Medal app and mobile Services may not be compatible with all mobile devices, carriers, and services, and Medal does not make any representations or warranties regarding such compatibility. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your mobile device is compatible with the type of content being provided.
You understand that content delivered as part of the mobile Services may be delivered to your device and acknowledge that you are solely and exclusively responsible for any charges for such services, including but not limited to any roaming charges. You understand that you may be charged by your wireless service provider in connection with the use of our Service. Fees and charges may apply to your use of, and access to, the mobile Services, and you are solely responsible for all such fees and charges.
23. Complete Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Medal with respect to your use (and prior use) of the Services.
If any inconsistency exists between the terms of this Agreement and any additional terms and conditions posted on the Service, such terms shall be interpreted as to eliminate any inconsistency, if possible, and otherwise, the additional terms and conditions shall control. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid, illegal or unenforceable in any respect, such provision shall be interpreted in such a manner as to preserve, to the maximum extent possible, the intent of the parties. The validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby, and such decision shall not affect the validity, legality or enforceability of such provision under other circumstances.
Medal's failure to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of any provision or right. Neither the course of conduct between the parties nor trade practice shall act to modify any provision of this Agreement. Medal may assign its rights and duties under this Agreement to any party at any time without notice to you. Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that these terms and conditions adhere strictly with the relevant laws, in the event that any of these terms are found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that term is to be deemed severed from these terms and conditions and the remaining terms and conditions shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable. Terms shall apply only within jurisdictions where a particular term is legal.
25. Special Admonitions for International Use
As a consequence of the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply with all local rules regarding user conduct on the Internet and acceptable content. Specifically, you agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the United States or the country in which you reside.
Use of this Website is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including without limitation this paragraph.
26. Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement and the relationship between you and Medal shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of England and Wales and Medal and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
