Anhydrous ammonia is widely used and can cause serious injury if not used with appropriately.


 

Anhydrous ammonia exposures are associated with severe burns that can be extensive. Exposures at low concentrations may cause irritation and inflammation.

chemical pneumonitis, chemical burn of the airways, bronchitis and edema

gastrointestinal (uncommon)
