Clinical Features of Disseminated Infection with Sporothrix schenckii

Does the patient have moderate to severe immunosuppression?

• systemic symptoms (low grade fever, unexplained weight loss, etc)?

• polyarthritis with or without tenosynovitis?

• lower respiratory tract lesions?

• lesions in the upper respiratory tract?

• osteolytic bone lesions?

• endophthalmitis?

• meningitis and/or brain lesion?

• skin lesions?

• lesions in the liver and spleen?

• lesion in the GI tract?

• lesions in the genital organs?

• lymphadenopathy?

Do biopsies show large number of fungal organisms?

Are fungal cultures positive for Sporothrix schenckii?
