Description

Gott et al identified factors associated with a poor quality of life (QOL) for an older adult with heart failure. These can help identify patients who may benefit from interventions to improve life quality. The authors are from the University of Sheffield, the University of Exeter and the University of Bardford in the UK.

Patient selection: adult > 60 years of age with heart failure

(1) gender

(2) age

(3) NYHA class

= SUM(points for all 6 parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum number of predictors: 0

• maximum number of predictors: 6

• The more predictors that are present the greater the risk of a poor quality of life.
