Buck-Gramcko et al developed a scale for evaluating outcome following therapy of an injury to the finger pulley mechanism. This may also be a useful measure for other finger conditions such as Dupuytren's disease.
Parameters:
(1) distance from fingertip to palmar crease (or angle of complete flexion)
(2) extension deficit (normal extension angle minus observed extension)
(3) range of motion in degrees

where:
• The angle of complete flexion is an alternative to distance from the fingertip to palmar crease. This is scored: < 150 degrees = 0 points; 150 to 179 degrees = 2 points; 180 to 199 degrees = 4 points; >= 200 degrees = 6 points.

= SUM(points for all 3 parameters)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 15
• The higher the score the better the functional outcome.
