Description

In 2012 guidelines were published in Belgium for the recognition of chronic kidney disease (CKD) by general practitioners. This takes into account age and the change in GFR over time.

Parameters:

(1) current estimated GFR (eGFR) in mL per min per 1.73 square meter

(2) age in years

(3) urine protein excretion (albumin to creatinine ratio in mg/g, protein to creatinine ratio in mg/g)

(4) delta eGFR over past 5 years

delta in eGFR over 5 years =

= (eGFR 5 years ago) - (current eGFR)
