Description

Ranucci et al developed a model for predicting mortality in a patient undergoing elective noncardiac surgery. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from IRCCS Policlinico S. Donato in Milan.

Parameters:

(1) age (A)

(2) serum creatinine (C)

(3) left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) in percent (as a number from 0 to 100)

Serum Creatinine

Points

< 2 mg/dL

>= 2 mgdL

ACEF score =

= ((age) / (ejection fraction)) + (points for serum creatinine)

X =

= (1.24 * (ACEF score)) - 5.41

probability of death in percent =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))

Performance:

• The area under the ROC curve was 0.74.
