A vehicle may have a fire or explosion under certain conditions.
In most cases, gasoline does not explode but it can burn violently. An explosion requires a number of conditions which are usually absent in an accident.
The battery of an electric vehicle can be the source of a fire.
Explosions can occur if:
(1) there is a car bomb
(2) the vehicle is carrying propane or other flammable gas
(3) the vehicle is carrying ammunition, fireworks or gunpowder
(4) the vehicle runs into a natural gas transmission line
A pseudo-explosion can occur if the tires explode in the fire.
