Description

Amyloidosis may involve the penis.


Cutaneous involvement usually involves the glans and may include:

(1) nodular lesions

(2) ulceration

(3) priapism

 

Other involvement:

(1) urethra

(2) penile mass

(3) corpus spongiosum

 

The involvement may be in the setting of systemic amyloidosis or it may be the initial finding. Most often there is light chain disease.

 

Other manifestations may include:

(1) nail dystrophy

(2) heart failure

(3) renal failure
