Lee et al reported the NUTRIC-SF score for evaluating a critically-ill patient receiving mechanical ventilation. This combines measures of malnutrition, sarcopenia and frailty. The authors are from University of Malaysia and Queen's University in Ontario.
NUTRIC-SF stands for modified NUTRIC score, sarcopenia and frailty.
Patient selection: ICU patient on mechanical ventilation
Parameters:
(1) modified NUTRIC score, from 0 to 9
(2) SARC--CALF, which is a combination of SARC-F (0 to 10) and calf circumference (0 or 10), for a range from 0 to 20
(3) clinical frailty scale (CFS) of Rockwood et al, from 1 (very fit) to 7 (very frail)
