Description

May et al reported the WCT formula to differentiate wide complex tachycardia (WCT) into ventricular tachycardia or supraventricular wide complex tachycardia (SWCT). The authors are from the Mayo Clinic.

Patient selection: wide complex tachycardia

Frontal and horizontal percent amplitude change (PAC) is a measure of percent (%) QRS amplitude change between paired WCT and baseline ECGs (May et al, 2019).

Parameters:

(1) WCT QRS duration in ms

(2) frontal percent amplitude change (PAC), in percent

(3) horizontal percent amplitude change (PAC), in percent

X =

= (0.0623 * (WCT QRS)) + (0.0279 * (frontal PAC)) + (0.0391 * (horizontal PAC)) - 14.4289

risk of ventricular tachycardia =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))

Performance:

• The area under the ROC curve is 0.96.
