Patient selection: adult victim of violent injury

 

Lethal triad:

(1) poverty

(2) mental illness

(3) substance abuse

 

where:

• The triad would also seem to describe an urban homeless population.

 

A person identified as being at risk may benefit from a violence intervention program.
